What is Lifestyle Medicine?

*The use of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to prevent, treat and sometimes reverse lifestyle-related diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and coronary artery disease, through non-drug means.

Ok, that’s a mouthful.

But essentially, it’s doing what your great-grandparents did to stay healthy.

We practice by the science and the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine:

  1. Healthful eating of a whole, mostly plant-based diet
  2. Increasing movement and physical activity
  3. Improving sleep, both quality and quantitiy
  4. Developing strategies to cope and manage stress
  5. Forming and maintaining community and social relationships
  6. Avoiding risky substances
